About The Amp
Sherman Village Park Amphitheater (“The AMO”) is owned and operated by the Village of Sherman and was made possible through strategic funding and economic incentives through Tax Increment Finance (TIF) dollars. It was developed to not only improve on the prior area South in Sherman but to serve as a bolster to Sherman’s growing local commercial and residential economy. The facility was completed and opened for its first event in 2018 and it has succeeded in all areas for the Village of Sherman and its residents and visitors.
The AMP is situated along the well traversed and historic Business 55/Historic Route 66 roadway. It is adjacent to one of the most exclusive and prestigious 18 hole golf courses in central Illinois, the Rail Golf Course. The AMP is the center piece of the ever so popular and growing Sherman Village Park.
The AMP has a capacity of over 3,000 and offers views unprecedented to other venues with the backdrop being the beautiful Rail Golf course. The AMP offers a full year of activities for local residents and to guests that include Easter Egg Hunts, one of the most popular Fireworks Spectacular in the area, movie nights, summer tribute concert series, national act series with big bands, Halloween trunk or treat program, Christmas Tree Lighting event and live on stage performances for the holidays, Christmas events and much much more.
The AMP is considered one of Central Illinois best outdoor concert/event venues for live on stage performances. The AMP was voted Best of the Capital in 2023 among some fierce competitors.
There is no bad seat in the house at the AMP. Seating is comprised of general admission seating where visitors can bring their own chair and/or blanket and enjoy the show. Best of all, visitors can come down into the “pit” and dance the night away only feet from the live musicians.
Food and drink for all ages is provided through the state of art concessions and the food court area. It’s a place to enjoy some incredible food from our local vendors, sit and relax, separate yourself from the crowd and enjoy your time under the beautiful café style lighting while still a view and ear shot from the music and fun.
But what separates the AMP from all other venues, you might ask? Well there are several for sure!
Pet Friendly. The AMP allows your fury little friends access into the facility. That is correct your dogs are allowed into the venue. Guests with pets must have them on a leash at all times and must be under the owner’s control at all times. Additional restrictions will apply.
Parking. How many times have you gone to a live concert to only find out there are additional fees to park and that the parking is far from the entrance. NOT AT THE AMP! Parking is FREE at the amp and is within a short walking distance to the entry gate.
Family Friendly. The AMP books extraordinary performers that go through rigorous vetting before being considered to perform on stage in front of our crowds. One of the requirements is to be a “family friendly” show to be enjoyed by all family members.
Youth Friendly. The AMP provides FREE access to all youth 12 and under. Parents are required to be present at all times during their visit.
Children Play Zone. Wanting to come to see an outstanding live performance but can’t get a babysitter. No worries at the AMP! The AMP provides FREE access to children under 12 (adult accompanied required) into the venue and a FREE Children Play Zone Area. The AMP provides a 10,000 square foot state of the art play system with rubberized flooring, well lit, well-staffed and well policed. Drop your child and their friends at this area and go enjoy the show! No venue around has this to offer its guests.
